The soundtrack for this live-action short film is a masterful blend of classical influences and modern post-rock elements as well as modular synthesizer work, artfully enhancing the storytelling and character development throughout the different scenes.
The composition begins with an elegant and evocative arrangement of swelling strings and a delicate felt piano during the intro credits. This sets a sophisticated and intriguing tone for the film right from the start.
As the scene introduces the cook for the first time, the music seamlessly incorporates the oboe along cello, infusing the piece with a touch of classical flair. This musical choice authentically reflects the cook's classical skills, adding depth and complexity to the character.
When the cook playfully interacts with the grapes and washes them in water, the piccolo, alto and bass flutes chime in, responding to the character's lively and playful actions. The music mirrors the scene's joy and adds a whimsical touch.
Transitioning back to only the piano during the closeups of the cook's craftwork is a clever decision, drawing the audience's attention to the precision and finesse of the cooking process. The simplicity of the piano solo allows for an intimate connection between the viewers and the chef's artistry.

The soundtrack then introduces a hint of Parisian accordion, signaling the arrival of the chef's haute cuisine. This shift in tone and style adds a touch of romance and elegance to the atmosphere, creating a perfect fusion of French culinary influences.
Moving forward, the delivery of the cook serving the covered dish (cloche) is accompanied by a romantic and enchanting musical delivery that gradually evolves into an air of mystery. The addition of heavier guitar elements then start to bring a hint of drama, reminiscent of the atmospheric qualities of Pink Floyd or Roger Waters' work. This change in mood heightens the tension and intrigue surrounding the dish's unveiling.
As the customer's dining experience progresses, the soundtrack skillfully incorporates church bells, cembalo, and a choir, signifying the passage of time and the nearing of the final hour. This orchestration contributes to the immersive ambiance and adds layers of emotion to the narrative.
In a moment of brief yet intense climax, the scene comes alive as lightning illuminates the surroundings, and the main character takes a deep inhale of a joint. As the camera reveals the character in an enclosed space, the soundtrack takes on an artistic and experimental edge with the addition of modular synthesizer work. The unique and otherworldly quality of the modular synthesizers allows the music to conjure a sense of "unnatural" or altered states of mind for the main character, effectively heightening the audience's perception of his stoned and paranoid state. This audacious musical choice adds an intriguing layer of depth and complexity to the storytelling, enriching the overall experience for the viewers.
