Description
In 1493 Christopher Columbus started what was to become the Spanish colonisation of the Americas. Over the next 400 years millions of people arrived and settled on its shores. Such was their effect on the indigenous peoples that their populations fell by an estimated 80%. Mostly this was by diseases brought in by the invaders. The Spanish quickly enslaved the native population to such an extent that the Spanish goverment felt a pang of remorse and in an effort to reduce this started bringing over African slaves to take their places on the plantations!
As we celebrate the joy of Xmas let us hope that those who would be conquerors find it in themselves to reflect upon their actions and bring some peace and order to their troubled world.
Big thumbs up to The Admiral for another fine performance. I have only used part of his vocal and I have also changed the pitch to C minor.

An interesting and effective manipulation of Gregorian music. Changing the pitch (and key) gives the Admiral's performance a subtle Middle Eastern flavor. When I admit to myself what part of the world you have transported me to, it suddenly becomes clear which "would be conquerors" we are pleading to. All of that subliminal wizardry baked in to a fine song. Bravo!
