I am befriending death.
She rests in
the stillness—
her soft breath
a shadow
on the back of my neck.

She whispers
the word
inevitability
with such
tenderness.

Mystery
is her essence.

If we knew the hour
of her arrival,
how could we ever
truly be human?

Could the heart
still open
wide enough
to dance?

Her secrecy
nudges me inward—
to the luminous
center
of the
present.

Birds scatter song
into the morning air
for anyone
willing to wake.

Fall in love
with the holy body
of Mother Earth.

Your bones
belong to
her.

Immersion in
her beauty
is one sacred
purpose
of our journey.

Bliss.
Pain.
Love.
Grief.

Invite
each
passion
and agony
to crack
the hardened
clay of your vessel.

Open
yourself
fully
to the water of life.

So that when her eyes
meet yours
you may surrender
into her
loving
